Geek Glasses

Big, bold, heavy-rimmed, from the runway to the parties, the glasses trend is clear: geek glasses!

StickyNote for Choosing Geek Eyeglasses Frames

Geek glasses are not cute when the rest of you looks so dumb!
They best go with leisure outfits esp for girls. You can pick up a nice hoodie and your favorite Converse, brighten up the whole look with a pair of geek glasses.

How to wear geek glasses?

1. When buying your geek/nerd glasses, make sure they suit your face.
2. Don’t be afraid to mix geek glasses with other styles as well. Urban, Hippie, Preppie, Rock, Emo, whatever your taste, the glasses will work with it all. Just let the glasses do the talking!
3. When it comes to make up, keep it fresh and sophisticated.

I certainly LOVE my geek glasses <3

Animal Prints

Animal prints, leopard, zebra, snake…never really go out of style. It’d spice up your outfit a bit by adding a little “animal print” or literally “animals” in your daily outfit.

This season, designers have taken the animal prints to another level. Check them out:

This is what I have on me today:

p.s. the little bow would tone the animal print down a little, so the whole outfit doesn’t look too wild (not my type of style =p)

Rain Boots Season is BACK!

Have you heard of the weather report today of Vancouver?

Weather Network: “Total rainfall amounts of 50 to 70 mm are expected through today near the north shore mountains in Metro Vancouver, and for Howe Sound and Sunshine Coast. Additional rainfall amounts of 50 to 70 mm are expected today through tonight for West Vancouver Island. The inland sections of the north coast is expected to receive 80 to 90 mm this evening through Friday.”

Rain boots are not just another piece of fashion item, they are necessities of Vancouverites!

I am wearing these today:

I also have this pair (It’s more fun and would brighten up my outfit if I wear in dark):

Let’s rock some rain boots in this who-knows-how-long typical rainy season of Vancouver.

Don’t you feel like it’s going to be “coat time” soon??

Vancouver weather is like a baby’s mood, it changes too dramatically! Yesterday we just had such a gorgeous day, and today it feels like winter.

How to dress chic in coats?  You can wrap up warm but still look fantastic in these fabulous coats.

Quote from Oprah.com – 10 Mistake-Proof Items Every Woman Should Own

     1.  Touches of animal print. On a bag or shoe, a little bit of zebra or tiger operates like a neutral. Michael Kors and Ann Taylor bring them out almost every season.

     2. A Leather jacket. Now a year-round staple, they come in lighter weights and pale colors, like Tory Burch’s in camel or Banana Republic’s in beige.

3. A men’s watch. I like men’s styles because they’re not too fussy or dainty. If you wear a lot of gold jewelry, go with gold tones (Tag Heuer’s are great); if you wear mostly silver, pick stainless steel (Citizen and Swatch have affordable options).

4. Diamond hoop earrings. More youthful than studs, hoops polish off a casual look and complete a dressy one. Unless you want to be mistaken for one of Beyoncé’s backup singers, find a medium size. I love Daniel K’s, and Carolee makes great faux ones.

5. A sequined scarf. Every woman should have sequins for day. I think the unexpected combination—plain plus fancy—is key.

6. White jeans. CJ by Cookie Johnson’s and Gap’s come in nice heavy fabrics.

7. A neutral shoe. In leather, patent leather, or fabric, a pair of heels that matches your skin color visually extends the line of your leg.

8. An oversize blazer. The “borrowed from the boys” look isn’t going anywhere. At the office, throw on a jacket—black, navy, or pinstriped.

9. A pencil skirt. Sexy without being revealing, and appropriate at any age—it works for every woman. If you have a boyish shape, it gives the impression of curves; if you’re curvy, it plays up your figure; if you’re plus size, it’s more flattering than a full skirt.

10. A lace-trimmed bra or camisole. Peeking out from under a V-neck, a little frill on a Soma bra or Mary Green cami adds a touch of femininity.

How many items do you have? =)

Chinese Qipao

The Qipao has come a long way. Qipao is always appreciated in Chinese fashion, and has more and more been adapted as a global phenomena. I am always so fond upon the colorful and fun patterns on the Qipao.

I myself have been attracted so much by the “fusion” fashion in the past few months. And interestingly, I found that traditional eastern influences will abound spring 2011. After a while I have not posted a blog, today I would like to share a few pieces of work with you – both Qipao and fusion fashion. See if you will also fall in love with those creative and open minded design.
